ALOHA USA 4th National Competition, New Jersey

newjerseyNew Brunswick, NJ – On Saturday June 4, ALOHA USA along with its 80 nationwide franchisees, held its 5th Math Olympiad and celebrated “ALOHA Day”.

Over 1000 children across 33 centers participated to test their math prowess and their newly acquired ALOHA Mind math skills. The day also marked the graduation ceremony of over 100 kids who completed the 8 levels of the ALOHA training program from various ALOHA centers.

Held at the Rutgers University campus, the event featured live demonstrations of young children solving complex math problems on stage. Over 3000 strong audience watched in awe as kids solved these problems in 5 seconds. A written test in 10 levels with 4 categories was conducted and Runners Up, Winners and Champions were announced later in the day. The top scorer of each category was pronounced champions. In all, there were 4 champions –Aditi Attada – age 9, Prithvi Iyer – age 8, Prutha Patel – age 8 and Summaya Vawda – age 14.

“I am so excited to have seen the response and am overwhelmed by the sheer turnout and enthusiasm of the kids,” said Mani Manickavelu, President & CEO – ALOHA USA. “Plans are afoot to expand across the US and franchise opportunities are being sought by eager parents and local business people”, he added.

Talking about the program and how it has been beneficial to their children, parents commented that kids were learning key skills in solving complex math problems for their age, which boosts their confidence. “My son is no longer apprehensive when it comes to Math, he is beginning to enjoy the process and the subject,” a parent from North Edison noted.

A mother from South Brunswick quipped, “I wish ALOHA was there when I was growing up, it would have helped me overcome the fear of Math. My daughter loves the fact that she is able to answer math problems in class quicker than anyone else.” ALOHA’s 4th Math Olympiad was covered by TV9 and a program of the day’s events will be telecast across US on leading TV channel Zee TV later this month.

ALOHA Mind Math is being offered as an after school program in America. The program has gained immense popularity and is being praised for the skills developed in children. The concept was brought to the US by Mr. Mani Manickavelu President & CEO Aloha USA in 2006 and has been expanding ever since.
